Free Your Inner Frenemy, Fool!

Let's get this out of the way, shall we? Today is April the First, otherwise known as April Fools' Day. I'm not one to pull any blogging hijinks, so I want you to know this is a safe space.

However, I did manage to get my 9-year-old daughter pretty good this morning. I told her that the school had a water main break and the gymnasium was flooded, which meant no school today! She totally bought it, and it was awesome. I let it sit for about 30 seconds before I hit her with the timeless, "April Fools!" She probably should have punched me, but instead, she laughed. I’ll take the win!

In sassier news, check out this book! It is a collection of short stories for a hungry YA audience. Though many (nay, all) stories within can be read by literally ANYONE of ANY AGE. Don't believe me? Check it out! It's FREE for a limited time on Amazon. And did I mention one of the stories is mine? I didn't? That's weird. I meant to lead off with it.

The teens are coming for you.
The teens are coming for you.

The short story I wrote for this talent-filled collection is called Ding Dong Bitch. Although I've never played the game Ding Dong Ditch and only learned about it while writing the story, I believe I added a playful twist to what is essentially a somewhat mean-spirited game. But hey, that's one element that makes for an intriguing story! So says the writer trying to give away his work for FREE!

Did I mention it's free?

From tales of country music talents to self-aware zombies, this spanking new collection does not disappoint! The angsty new YA anthology from the creative minds at Sterling & Stone, features 13 tales from the studio’s most talented storytellers, including bestselling author Sean Platt, Cameron Stone, Kim M. Watt, Kathryn Cottam, August Niehaus, and more!

But you don't have to take my word for it. You just have to go get it and read it for yourself. Because if you don't, the April Fool will come out from under your bed at night and....

I won't spoil it, but it ain't pretty, darlin'.

Here's to the fiction in your truth,

B
